Real estate sentiment index up marginally | Business Line

Of the 18 cities surveyed, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Mangalore hold an optimistic outlook on purchasing homes, the survey highlighted.

Of these, Bengaluru and Mumbai have turned optimistic from pessimistic in the current month. While Bengaluru posted a score of 62.5 in September, as compared to 42.5 in August, Mumbai improved to 52.5 from 40.5. The remaining three, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mangalore, have been consistently optimistic on home purchase in recent months, the survey said.

Aviation conclave in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, OCT. 13:  

Top global defence and aerospace industry, including Airbus, Eurocopter, EADS, Dassault, Honeywell, Lokheed Martin, UTC, Israeli Aerospace Manufacturing Federation etc. will take part in a 3-day event being hosted by the Government of Telangana in Hyderabad during November 12-14.

The aviation conclave aims to showcase Telangana as the new investment hub in the Defence and Aerospace Engineering domain and highlight its investment friendly policies. It will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The TS Government and Kenes Exhibitions of Israel will jointly organise the event. Two similar events have been held in Israel. They showcased latest technologies, products related to defence and aerospace, a press release said.

The conference will feature keynote addresses by V K Saraswat, former Secretary, Dept. of Defence R&D (GoI) & Scientific Adviser to Raksha Mantri, Henri-Jacques Topf, Chairman – Schneider International, Daniel Kumar, Director SCM, UTC Aerospace Systems etc.,

The conclave aims to bring global companies engaged in the supply chain of the aerospace arena with focus on technologies, high-end products and expanding their supplier’s base to explore new business opportunities in the Indian market.

Hyderabad global smart city

Telangana Government has taken upon the task of makingHyderabad a global smart city, state Minister for PanchayatRaj and Information Technology K T Rama Rao said today. 

"The new state of Telangana has many challenges and opportunities. We have a big agenda and goals. We are a very urban state with 39 per cent people living in urban areas. We have unique problems and challenges. There is no panacea. We made a fresh beginning and we are confident of solving the problems," Rao said. 

He was speaking at the plenary on redefining Urban Agenda - Big Data / Big Challenges at the ongoing XI Metropolis World Congress. 

"In spite of the state coming into existence only recently, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has taken upon himself the onerous task of making the capital city of Hyderabad as a global smart city," the minister said. 

Referring to the data collected during the Intensive Household Survey - 2014 (held in August), the minister said that the whole data of 3.6 crore population of Telangana was gathered from the village-panchayat level to the metropolitan city of Hyderabad, in just a single day. 

"The data will be properly utilised for the allocation of required funds in the coming budget session of the Assembly. The data will also be put to use to remove all sorts of inefficiencies in the governance," he said. 

Observing that smart cities should offer smarter citizen services, Rao said, "since challenges before us are manifold, intelligence gained from large volumes of macro data and analysis can help revolutionise Urban Planning and City functioning." 

The data will be useful for better revenue administration, for urban-poor inclusion, emergency response and in disaster management, besides (for) citizen-civic engagement, the release quoted the minister as saying.
